hello! The class committee met up with Mrs Foong
on Friday and in case you all forget what
Meaghan is going to tell you and
for easy reference, here it is:
The menu is based on western theme.
The menu must consist of:
Maindish- Chicken burger
Soup- Any type of cream soups
( must be very easy to cook, add garlic bread on side. )
Salad- Vegetables/ Potato
We have to get the menu ready by end of next week.
MENU
First course
- Soup
Main Dish
- Chicken burger
- vegetarians use cheese/mushrooms etc.
Third course
- Salad
(eg. potato, lettuce etc,)
Last course
- Ice cream
(buy ready-made or make
[ making of ice cream must be easy if want to])
(eg. Banana Split, Cocktails etc.)
About 20 to 25 parents will be invited by Mrs Foong,
invitations will be given out.
Those whose parents who are not coming,
please try to contribute food or money to the class donation box.
FOOD
- Garlic Bread/ French bread ( baguette) ( from Delifrance) , garlic spread
- Soup
( Chicken etc.) ( Cambellis etc.)
When donating food, the food has to be halal chicken meat etc.
NO PORK NO BEEF NO MUTTON
We might be able to serve Fish Burger if it is affordable.

We will cook on 23rd MAY 2oo8, Friday.
We are the last class out of the 3 classes to cook for our parents.
We will start cooking at 2.30pm .
ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY.
If any of you have CCA's, extra classes, appointments etc,
please either cancel, skip or postpone it to another day.
Please approach Mrs Foong for a letter to be excused on that
day from foriegn language lessons.
This programme will not be graded, but the funds raised will be
announced to the whole school.

- Pictures ( print/ wall decoration/drawings by class)
- Flowers, vases ( cactus)
-Cowboy/girl theme / Red Indian ( costume)
We might collaborate with the other classes about the
decoration so that less money will be spent.
This will also save more time as the 3 classes will be
doing their project on 3 consecutive days.
If we do not have enough money for the decoration,
the extra amount will be taken from the class fund.
PLEASE TRY TO RESEARCH ON CURTAINS RELEVANT TO THE THEME AND GIVE US COMMENTS.

The aims and objectives of this programme are as follows:
a) to raise at least $1000 from each class
b) to inculcate the spirit of volunteerism,
co-operation and collaboration within the class
c) to foster closer bonding between pupils,
pupils and parents and between form teacher and parents
d) to prepare,cook and serve a well cooked dinner according to a set theme
STRATEGY
1) The dinner will be based on a Country & Western theme
eg ' Wild Wild West' or ' Romantic Western & Country Affair'
etc. as the main dish will be a burger dish.
2) Dinner will be served by the classes after
every module of a 10 week cycle.
3) At the end os 10 weeks, the 3 classes will server
dinner to about 20 to 25 parents at a minimun cost of $35 per head.
4) At the end of dinner, the 3 classes will give a short presentation
on why they are doing this project and then ask the parents to
contribute more if they are pleased with the dinner and entertainment.
5) Light entertainment will be provided during the meal - singing,
telling jokes, or playing with musical instruments
6) The target sum raised by the classes will also be a deciding
factor in the Best Class Award presented to the classes.
TIME FRAME
Each class will prepare a dinner meal for their parents at the end of the module.
In week 7- pupils will start planning of dinner. Teacher will
meet up with the class committee to discuss menu and organisation.
Class will be divided into 3 groups.
a) Group 1 - in charge of cooking
b) Group 2 - in charge of decoration and serving.
c) Group 3 - in charge of entertainment
Whole class will wash up and clean up after the dinner.
In week 8 - Pupils to give grouping and menu to teacher-in-charge.
In week 9 - Pupils to issue invitation cards to parents.
In week 10 - Pupils to collate food order and give to teacher
